EP. 5: UCI Prof. Clare Yu, Phd

Professor Clare Yu, PhD. is a physicist at UC Irvine (UCI).

As our guest on Episode #5, Prof. Yu discusses her work as a theoretical physicist and astronomy professor at UCI.

Prof. Yu studies biological physics and condensed matter physics with a broad range of research interests including disordered systems, biophysics, and quantum computing.

She's had her research articles published in many scientific journals and was recognized as an Alfred P. Sloan fellow and was named a fellow by the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.

Prof. Yu earned her Bachelor's and PhD from Princeton University, the home of Albert Einstein and a very prestigious school for physics.

When she was eight years old, Prof. Yu’s mother would read books about the stars and Isaac Newton. From there, she wrote a little essay about her desire to become a physicist.
